About Me

I am 38 years old, married to Glenn (who has a Natural Clothing Company ) and have two boys.
I was born in Germany but have been living in America and the UK for the past 19 years.

Alyosha (16) was born in a birthing centre in New Jersey, USA and is the initiator of my journey into midwifery.

The amazing journey of pregnancy, tremendous power of labour and birth and then the amazement, wonder and overwhelming joy and love that flooded through me when welcoming our son drew me to midwifery.

I saw the magic of this special time and wanted to work toward enabling other women to enjoy the journey of pregnancy, to learn to trust their bodies and make a positive transition to parenthood.

My son Emanuel (14) was born at home in Wales and we have been living in Sussex since 1996.

I eventually trained at Brighton University and Pembury Hospital to become a midwife.

I have been in Independent Practice since 2004 and my client numbers have grown quickly over this time.

My passion is natural birth and supporting women to have a positive, satisfying and empowered pregnancy and birth. I primarily support women to have homebirths but of course accompany my clients into hospital if the situation requires it.
As a native german speaker, I am happy to support women in the german language.

I am trained to deal with emergency situations, resuscitation of the baby and the various manoeuvres that are sometimes necessary and I update these skills on a regular basis.

I am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), which is the governing body that sets out the Code of Conduct and Midwives Rules that I abide by.
I am a member of the Independent Midwives Association (IMA); the Association of Radical Midwives (ARM) and the National Childbirth Trust (NCT).
